Choosing a Heights Pool Membership: Which Pass Fits Your Household

The most common question new families ask about Heights Pool is which pass they need. The second most common is whether they can just come for a day. The answer to that second one is no, and it helps to know before you drive over. Heights Pool is a membership club, not a city pool. Membership is open to anyone, with no waitlist and no initiation fees. Here's how to pick the right pass.

Start with who lives in your house

Each pass is defined by who it covers. The prices below are the 2026 Off Season prices on the Memberships & Passes page. Summer pricing is listed separately there, so check the page for the season you're joining.

  • Family Pass: the pass holder, a spouse, and children under 18 living with the pass holder. Up to 4 kids is $579, up to 5 kids is $599, and up to 6 kids is $619.
  • Single Parent Pass: a single parent and their children under 18 living with them. Up to 4 kids is $459, up to 5 kids is $479, and up to 6 kids is $485.
  • Married Couple Pass: a married couple with no children, or with only one child under 2. It's $449.
  • Senior Couple Pass: a couple 65 and older, with no other family members included. It's $389.
  • Single Pass: one person 18 or older. It's $359.
  • Senior Single Pass: one person 65 or older. It's $349.

A few real-life cases

Two parents with two kids under 18 are the Family Pass at $579, which covers up to four kids. A single parent with three kids is the Single Parent Pass at $459. A married couple with a baby under 2 can use the Married Couple Pass at $449, but once that child turns 2, or a second child arrives, the Family Pass is the right fit.

Grandparents are a good example of how the pieces fit. A Senior Couple Pass at $389 covers just the two of them. When the grandkids visit, they come as guests at $5 per kid, up to six guests a day on the account.

One thing to watch: the Family Pass covers children under 18 living with the pass holder. An adult child home for the summer can join with their own Single Pass, or visit as a guest at $10 per adult.

Guests and the Nanny Pass

Each membership account may bring up to six guests a day, at $10 per adult and $5 per kid. That's how a birthday-week cousin, a neighbor or a visiting friend gets in. The Nanny Pass is $20. Because the specifics of who it covers aren't spelled out on the passes page, call (210) 824-2595 to confirm how it works for your household before you buy.

If you bought the Early Bird Special, your summer guest passes roll over into the Off Season.

No day passes, and why that's the point

Heights Pool doesn't sell day passes. A pass is how you get in, and members can bring guests any day. Lifeguards are on duty during all open hours. The upside of a membership club open to everyone is that there's no waitlist, and pickleball carries no court fees on top of the pass.

What the pass includes

Every pass covers the Olympic-size pool with lap lanes, the diving pool with its board and tall water slide, the kiddie pool next to the shaded playscape, the basketball court, ping-pong, corn hole and ring toss. Pickleball is included with unlimited play and no court fees. Members also get adult-only swim times, special events, daily lap lane reservations, and access to the POOLSIDE grill and full bar.

If you've ever added up the cost of hourly court rentals or a gym membership, the pickleball alone can change the math. And if you host a party, you'll need a season pass holder anyway, since the host stays on-site the whole time.

Off Season now, or wait for summer?

The 2026 Off Season runs through Sunday, December 13, with reduced prices compared with summer. If you're deciding whether to join now or wait, joining now lets you try the pool, the courts and the grill before you commit to a full season. The owners have said the Off Season turnout will help decide whether an early-spring membership is offered. The homepage already says the pool is now welcoming members for the 2027 season, so you can check the passes page for what's currently on offer.

One Google reviewer, whit brooks, called Heights Pool "the perfect swimming pool for all ages." That matches what the pass is meant to cover: a household of different ages, each with a reason to be there.

How to join

Pick the pass that matches who lives in your house, and use the Join Now button on the Memberships & Passes page. If your household doesn't fit neatly into one category, call (210) 824-2595 or email info@heightspool.com, and the staff will tell you which pass applies. The pool is at 250 Viesca St in Alamo Heights.
